An ounce of prevention...

is wortha pound of cure. That's what my grandma always used to say. I guess I am doing post today to prevent myslef from being a slacker and not posting for a week.
My week was un-eventful I went to Ohio like planned on Thursday and Friday. It was fun and I managed to get to Sugar Crafts,Jungle Jim and Ikea after work Thursday night. After driving home Mom and I went out for her birthday dinner and then we went to a movie and saw this. We liked it but not nearly as much as we thought we would.
Then Sat I cleaned house and did my weekly expense report while Mom took Bella to Conner Prarie for a" Apple A Day" playdate. They had fun and Bella was crashed out when they got home around 2 so I was able to catch up on a couple of shows we watch. Then we went to the flower factory to get containers for baked goods for the bake sale we are having at church. Adam was out of town camping for the night so Mom and I came home and we got to watch the new Grey's episode. Sunday morning I cooked a big breakfast for us all and we went to church. Then Adam and I took Bella to the park after lunch.
Monday was a very productive day too. I caught up on laundry, cleaned the kitchen, cooked dinner for Mom again sice Adam had to work late. Then laid out my stuff for work today. Tomorrow is a good day. I am off of work and get to spend the day with Bella relaxing and watching the movie she has been DYING to see. Dad got it from RedBox for us this morning. So I am looking forward to a day off tomorrow and I maybe just maybe will take a picture or 2 of sweet cheeks and put them up for all to see.

It's official

She's off the market. Sorry Guys! Adam's beautiful sister & Bella's Zia Rita is getting married. She has been dating Eric for a couple years now and it was expected but now it is official with the ring in hand. He hid the ring Geo-caching style and made her go look for a cache and then said SURPRISE! I still have not met him ! I went to Connecticut back in May for a visit but he could only come down when I was not there(curious) I swore for the longest time he didn't really exist but since they all (The In-laws) swear he does I'll have to accept it but I'm still cautious.

They are planning on a Sept/Oct 2009 Wedding. I am telling you these In-laws and their getting married are just plain ole screwing up my vacation time I'll tell ya.Adam's brother Roger is getting married in Nov this year (see him and Erika above)and we will be out there during one of the coldest times of the year. What is it with a Erika AND an Eric joining the family? All I know is that they both better get busy having kids so Grandma will have another baby to love on. Bella is getting rotten with all the attention of being the only one. They also better have a girl so they can get all of the FABULOUS dresses my mother in law has made for Bella over the years.

I am planning on sneaking a trip to the city(NYC) on that Sun after the wedding to get my china town fix and hopefully see a show too. I do miss my other side of the family but since this is what you'll get for $500K in Redding and THIS is what you'll get here in Indianapolis including 5 acres and lake front and it's $4k CHEAPER I guess I'm staying put!

Back in action

What is it with us? We have been camping a lot this summer ,at least 8 weekends in several different states, different months all with one common denominator RAIN!!! Every single stinking time, downpour or drizzle. A hour or sun up to sun set. What's a family to do? At least this time Bella was not with us and I didn't have to keep a 3 year old from mudding up the entire tent like usual. She stayed home with her Granny while Dad and I went up to Meemaw Sandy's property in Sheridan for a party. It was fun and I was so happy to see a lot of old friends and make a few new ones but YUCK it was wet the whole stinking time. The good news is I don't have a cold which is what has happened almost every time we've camped too.
I am back in action at the Gym too. Yesterday was my 1st day back and Tomorrow I'll be going too. I can't tell that I missed a beat in the treadmill but my chest is feeling the press and the Ab cruncher is doing it's part too. I really need to focus on making this a full lifetime change so that I can be there for Bella when she is ready to ride the rides at Cedar Point or Disney World. I want to be on there with her and be able to keep up with her as best as possible for a 40 year old arthritic woman can.
I am leaving Thursday for a couple days out of town. I am filling in for a persons vacation which stinks as it is a set schedule and I'll have to work whatever they need. They good news is even though I'll be exhausted I will be able to go to the hotel Thursday evening an order dinner in and lay on my hiney and watch TV . That is if I don't get carried away (this scenario is much more likely if you know me) and head out to Jungle Jim's and Ikea for a brief jaunt. Not to mention the HUGE cake store that's right now the road and in and all new building too.
Then I am going to race home Friday night to at least see my Mom on her birthday for a late night dinner and maybe a movie. Looks like I am back in Hi-Gear Huh?

Bouncertown.....@ Home

Here they are ready to rumble in the backyard. Bella and her Dad starting the blow up of her new birthday gift from Grandma,Papaw and Zia Rita. A new Bouncer play set for the backyard. While they were out visiting in July they realized her affinity for Bouncertown, A local indoor play land with several blow up bouncers and a variety of games. She could stay there for hours running ,jumping and playing games. As a matter of fact she just got to go again on Friday. This arrived in Indy last Friday during the torrential downpours we had. Grandma was so excited she called daily to see if the rain had let up for us to play with it. Darn that hurricane Ike and his pushing all that rain on us.So here is the slide show below of getting in blown up and ready to go last Wed night.
Some of the actual bounce shots really stink and all you see is a mess of hair. Not to hot at the action shots mkay!

Bella has been a pretty lucky girl this summer. We got this play set for free from some friends of Mom's .
They bought a new house with this in the yard and they say "Haul it away and it's yours" So not a bad little deal after we fixed it up,stained it and added a few finishing touches. Too bad it is nearly the end of summer but her next year backyard situation will ROCK!

An apple a day...

Doesn't always keep the Dr. away. I have been have back issues for the last month and it had gotten progressively worse over the last 2 weeks. Last Thursday was the worst so I made an appt for the Dr. on the following Tues. Well of course I got up Friday and was pretty fine all day long. Then Sat came and we took a planned trip to the Apple Orchard in Mooresville. No trip to Mooresville would be complete with out a trip here afterwards. So long story short I way way way over did it on Sat and by 4 am Sunday I was locked up tight. I got up and took ibuprofen and got a hot towel for my back and it took me over and hour to get back to sleep. I spent the next 2 days hobbling around here like a 90 year old woman. Then Tuesday I was way past ready to be fixed. I thought for sure what I had was a mild case of Sciatica as I had a serious case 10 years ago that I put off getting checked till I could barely drive the pain was so bad down my leg to my foot. No such luck this time though. My new Dr. (which I really liked) checked me out did some X-rays to come back with the Arthritis diagnosis. YUCK! all the stories are true you turn 40 and fall apart in a heap.

Oh well we had a blast at the orchard and Bella got to pick apples this year. Last year the apple picking was terrible. She also got to pick out a nice pre-season pumpkin with her Granny. My cousin Lisa got a bag of apples to make pies with and I got Adam a peck of peaches and myself a bag of Gala's for my lunch bag. Over all it was a good day I just had to play now and pay later.

She's 3...

Well it's been a minute since I've posted. I'd have tons of photo's from our weekend at the Geocaching Fall picnic but I forgot the battery to the camera like an idiot. I guess it's for the best as I spent a lot of time in the tent because I was sick. I froze to death on Friday and Sat night and was coughing and stuffed up the whole time. Bella and Adam had the run of the park the whole weekend. Then Bella and I came home early on Sunday so he could cache the rest of the day.
Yesterday was Miss Bugga's 3rd birthday. It was a grand day indeed. We started off by playing in the backyard on her play set. Then she made a nest in the tree so the birdies would come visit us. After that we headed to Panera for one of her all time faves a Cinnamon Crunch bagel(like mother like daughter) I asked her if she'd like to go to her city (that's what she calls downtown) and take a walk. We headed to the White River state park and walked the canal. We saw baby ducks, A Mastodon,(not quite sure what she's looking for) A really cool steam clock. Then she noticed and advertisement for a whales and dolphins movie at the Indiana State Museum IMAX theater. She asked to go see it. She had never been to a real movie theater so I decided it was as good a day as any to give it a whirl. She really did pretty good and was only scared by the whales a couple of times I think the IMAX makes it a little TOO close. We left the theater at 3:45 and she was sound asleep by 4 so I dropped her at her Dad's work so I could get everything ready for her small party. Here she is as Dad brought he in the restaurant. She was so surprised it was too cute.
Then we all settled down to some pizza and bread sticks. After dinner we opened presents and cards. Then it was time to eat some cake & Ice cream. The theme was Strawberry shortcake if you couldn't tell. She had a wonderful birthday and got lots of presents and I think it was a pretty successful day.

Just another day

Right this moment I am in nirvana. I am sitting at my local Panera eating my cinnamon crack bagel drinking my mocha latte and surfing the web. It is nearly almost never that I have been able to do this. Normally I'd be working or at home working or playing with Bugga. Today I am off,Julie has Bella and I am meeting my boss here to get my new lab coats and to learn how to get on the company's VPN. So I am one lucky mama especially since she is late!
I am taking the dogs to my cousin Jeff's today so he can doggie sit. I have to pack for our camping trip this weekend. I have to make an appt for Adam,Mom and I for the Dr. since our Dr moved back to India on the 22nd. Then if I manage my time very very well and it's in God's plan for my day I'll have a moment where I can sit down and do something I want to do. Maybe do a new Desktop for Sept?Maybe do a scrap page. Maybe I could sit down and watch a TV show without falling asleep or having someone interrupt me. Let me tell ya the possibilities are endless.
Then my DH is taking me out to dinner tonight to the Melting Pot.To enjoy a nice pot of fondue. I am excited.
Then tomorrow it's back to reality and I have to work in Bloomington. Oh well I guess it could be HERE.

I'm Back....

I know everyone is busy and have lives a lot more complicated than I but I'll tell ya it's been way to busy around here this week to heck e-mail much less post to the ole blog. I'll start where I left off. Last Thursday I was off and took Bella to Connor Prairie.Well Miss thing and I had a ball even if it was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk.Oh wait the 1800's didn't have side walks . Here are some photos I took. I love the one with her and the chicken.
Then On Friday I had to go to Lafayette to do a wedding cake. I was an easy day even though I went to the gym at 5 am so I could get done early. Then I picked up my cousin Rachel (15 yrs old) to watch Bella while Adam ,Mom and I went to see this. It was so stinking funny. We don't get to go a lot together so it was fun. I ate way to much buttery popcorn and got a tummy ache but what's new?
Sat well Sat was a whole different day. I had Mom, Rachel and me working on emptying ,Cleaning ,receiving new furniture. all day long I mean from 6 am to 6 pm I only took a few minutes to eat and or help Bella. It was cruel but it had to be done. I have before and after pictures below. Before Shot of Living and Dining Rooms
Living Room After
I won't go into anymore details as I'd like to forget that day. That night my cousin Lisa and her daughter Rachel and I went swimming then out to dinner and then grocery shopping . I didn't get to bed until 11:30.

Dining Room After Shot
Then Sunday morning I got up at 6:45 and went to early services as I didn't want to miss church I am needing God to be the center of my life for sure so Since there was a family cookout and I didn't want to be late I was out the door. Then we went to the cookout and for the most part it was a nice day.
Then came Monday. I felt awful and Bella had yucky looking eyes from the moment she got out of Bed. Yup I went to the Dr and it was a confirmed case of Pink Eye . Oh Joy! So that's where I am right now. At least it was my day off and Dr says Bella will be all clear by the morning and I have to work tomorrow. So Wish me luck !
